UPDATE #14

As seen in the Transworld News section today! The West Coastin Tour is coming up!
We will be doing a west coast tour with 4 different stops at some of our finer retailers in California. We call it the "WEST COASTIN" tour. And its going to be off the hook.

First stop will be at Elyzium surf & skate in San Diego,CA for an autograph signing.

Then we will be at Driscolls in El Centro,CA for an autograph signing/skateboarding demo. This is also the final stop of the Valley Voyage tour so its going to be HUGE!

We then have a skateboarding demo/autograph signing at SHELTER skateshop in Fullerton,CA. And the following day after a stop probable stop at Ghost skateshop back in San Diego,CA for an autograph signing.

So if your in the area be sure to head on out. We will be turning the entire documentation of the "West Coastin" tour into a DVD so be sure to roll up and be a part of it.

TYRONE OLSON has a new ad in an upcoming transworld skateboarding magazine for Struggle skateboards we will reveal it soon!

RUBEN NAJERA is now officially a pro rider for HERRON trucks.

We have also added new flow rider Tommy Ries to the team.

And new RDT riders Ryan Quent, Dana Phillips, and Adam Mitchell. They all hail from Wooster Ohio. Wooster pumps out some awesome skateboarders! We are super proud to have these rippers aboard the Struggle locomotive.

And RDT rider Malachi Riddle took 1st place in a skateboard competition near his local park. As well as 2nd place in the game of skate. The entire contest was judged by legendary skateboarder Bill Danforth. Congrats Malachi keep up the good work!

We also held a Kickflip competition on the same day as the IVR awards. There was tough competition for second place but Isaac Awan took the 1st place gold with ease.

2nd Place Henry Beltran did 11 kickflips. And Isaac Awan took the gold with 86 kickflips in a row.

It was also official GO SKATEBOARDING DAY and we would like to thank everyone of you that came out to skate with Struggle. Much love and we look forward to doing this every year to come. 

On a side note we would like to welcome some new riders to our squad as well. 

Tommy Ries from Wooster,Ohio is now a part of our Flow Team. 

And Adam Mitchell, Dana Phillips, and Ryan Quent from Wooster,Ohio are all now on our RDT program. Super pumped to have them joining the Struggle and be on the lookout for some coverage on our new riders! 

GO SKATEBOARDING DAY!!!!

This upcoming weekend is GO SKATEBOARDING DAY!!! No one is doing anything for the Imperial Valley so we figured we might as well make something happen! The 2nd annual Struggle Kickflip challenge which is open to "UNSPONSORED" riders only this year. And of course free entry if you have a Struggle board. Also we will hold the IMPERIAL VALLEY RALLY 3 award ceremony on this day. So if you were a part of a team that participated this year be sure to show up. If none of the team members from the "winning" team show up then the first place prize automatically goes to the 2nd place runners up. SO BE THERE!!!

UPDATE #12

The Imperial Valley Rally entries are in and currently being looked over and judged at the moment. Stay tuned for an announcement as to where the "Award Ceremony" will be held. It will probably be done in conjunction with another event as well.

Speaking of events this upcoming weekend (Saturday June 6th) you can find some of our Struggle riders doing a demo for you over at the Imperial Valley Fairgrounds. The demo is indoors and is part of an IVROP event is going down hand in hand with the city.

The "BRAND SPANKING NEW" Struggle Skateboards website is done as you may very well have already checked out! It took a while but we are proud of the outcome and the new look. There are tons of new features on it and be sure to join our very own "Children of the Struggle" skate community that we have going now. So many great things to come from Struggle in the near future so stay tuned and keep checking back for the updates.

We got our "promo" video in the editing bay at the moment. The name might change for it but for now we are calling it "Continuum". Maybe we should do a video naming contest? What do you guys think?

ANTHONY JOHNSON recently got a full interview in the latest "Heavy Water Magazine" issue.

TYRONE OLSON has currently been logging in even more clips for the latest Struggle promo and full length video due out 2010.

RUBEN NAJERA now has his own POWERBAR display which will be featured at just about every grocery store and convenient store in the United States and select countries carrying Powerbar products. Expect to see the display sometime within the next coming months.

For those of you that have never heard of the IMPERIAL VALLEY RALLY its a 10 day scavenger hunt throughout the entire Valley mixed with all kinds of tasks ranging from skateboarding tricks to silly stunts. You film everything and turn in your footage on the due date. All tasks are worth different amounts of points. The team with the greatest amount of points wins. Its probably the funnest contest in the history of mankind. AND ITS FREE TO ENTER! So dont miss out people!

Also the following day after we got the celebration release of Ruben Najera's "Vacation" deck.

Pizza and sodas on his tab homies! While supplies last... Come on out for a good day of fun times and skateboarding. Check out the new deck and chill with some Struggle riders. FUN FUN FUN!!!! Oh yea and theres going to be a SK8 DICE competition so bring your hustling game. Raffle tickets and Struggle boothe in full effect as well!

STRUGGLE UPDATE #10

NEW SPRING 2009 check it out!


We can’t thank all of you supporters enough. Thank you to all that came out to the 8th installment of our Valley Voyage tour in Brawley, CA. Massive THANK YOU to CVZ for helping throw in prizes! Local skateboarder Diego Najera took $52.00 in cash for first place down the stairs and also took the Gold in the “Pyramid battle”. 2nd place honors went to James Devera (pyramid) and Flippy Zendejas (stairs). 3rd place honors went to Struggle RDT rider Mariano Valenzuela (pyramid) and James Devera (stairs).

We have the Calexico Valley Voyage tour stop coming up next as well as the legendary Imperial Valley Rally contest which for those of you that aren’t familiar is a massive scavenger hunt. Both of these events will go down in May so you Imperial Valley heads be on alert. But going down first is the Calexico stop. You ready?


The "BEST 3 TRICK LINE" contest will consist of riders throwing down 3 trick lines. A trick on the rail followed by a flatground trick and one final trick on a 9ft long box. This should be real fun! Good Luck to all!

Coming up even quicker than the Calexico Valley Voyage stop is a Beat Battle we are sponsoring! Our boy G-ROCKA is the man behind the entire event. We have begun to sponsor a few musicians. RUBEN NAJERA has been on a contest winning streak lately. He took 2nd place in the “Manual Pad” competition at the legendary HOOD GAMES in Long Beach, CA. He had quite an impressive group of judges to impress. Karl Watson, Terry Kennedy, Peter Smolik, Darrell Stanton and Walker Ryan just to name a few.


Ruben also got 1ST place in his local hometowns annual Game of S.K.A.T.E. thrown by our good friends over at Driscolls skateshop.




On top of all this he has a new ad out in Transworld Skateboarding for Sneaux shoes. You can find it in the May 2009 issue. He is one of the established West Coast team riders for Sneaux shoes.
