The 2008 STRUGGLE SHOWDOWN is finally here.
This year we have three wonderful sponsors helping us out and donating a mass amount of prizes to the winners and in the product toss.

They were awesome enough to lend us their parking lot to do this spectacular event. They have always backed us and we will always back them 100%. If you live in the Imperial Valley be sure to go by Driscolls to get all your skateboard supplies and gear.

We also have tons of different prizes from the shop that will be raffled off for $1.00.
We are talking the possibilities of leaving with a skateboard deck for a dollar. GNARLY! I know!

Also a fact not mentioned on the flyer is that the TOP 5 competitors with a STRUGGLE deck get a FREE raffle ticket as well. So even if lets say 30th place was the 5th person with a Struggle deck. That would then mean that he would leave with a raffle ticket and possibly end up winning a free deck! Pretty rad! So rep that Struggle.

On top of this its also vital to mention that all matches will be chosen at random. No one will be pre set up. And there are no age limits. Nowadays even the smallest dudes are ridiculously good.

GAME RULES:

NO GRABS
NO TRICKS IN WHICH YOUR FOOT TOUCHES THE GROUND (fastplants,no complys,etc)
NO PRIMO TRICKS
NO MANUALS
NO TOE DRAGS (more lenient towards the defending side)
NO HANDS ON THE GROUND

Fingerflips are allowed if you can do them without touching the ground with your foot.

Flippy Zendejas was in the hospital recently with some kidney failure. Pretty scary stuff. He is alright now and back on his board. We are stoked to have him back to health again and shredding the streets with the Struggle squad. ANTHONY JOHNSON has been killing it lately. Remember the name. You will be seeing alot from him in the months to come. Expect a full length part from Anthony in the new Struggle video in the works as we speak.

RUBEN NAJERA has been doing some more Hollywood work lately. His latest being an appearance in the new music video for American Idol winner David Cook. Check out the "Light On" music video. Yes, that is him on the skateboard rolling up right in the beginning. He also pops up a couple other times in the video.

We were featured in the almighty 2009 Transworld Skateboarding Buyers Guide issue. We are super honored to have this bestowed upon us. Thank you Transworld. LEAST COSTING PRO DECKS IN THE ENTIRE SKATEBOARDING INDUSTRY! It says $45.00 but you all know they actually cost only $35.00.

We would also like to give a massive shoutout to everyone that came out to the Struggle Skateboards Valley Voyage stop in Holtville. Here is the video we promised. Two words come to mind FUN TIMES!!!!!!

Alright everyone we got some sweet updates to inform you about. We have a NEW STRUGGLE dealer! All of you have known where to get Struggle decks at now we have an exclusive shop carrying everything else. Struggle shirts,hats,shades,and everything else we got can be found at the:

Basically you show up, and we all skate together to different spots in a Wild In the Streets type format. We stop at various spots and one of our riders will announce when to start shredding. All of you that are ripping and we feel deserve a dollar for your perfectly executed trick shall leave with a dollar! And if you tearing it up the entire day at every stop in the city you may end up leaving with quite a bit of bucks. TYRONE OLSON has a new Struggle Skateboards ad in TRANSWORLD SKATEBOARDING magazine. It can be found in the most recent issue. December 2008. Check it out and show your support by getting one of his decks.

RUBEN NAJERA recently suffered a gnarly concussion. Hes going to be out for a few days but should be back by the time the Holtville Valley Voyage stop comes around. He also sent me in some rad photos of him at the Sneaux shoes boothe at the ASR tradeshow where he had a full sized banner with more than a few awesome photos featured on it.

On top of that he also pulled off the FRONT COVER of the latest PETER GRIMM catalouge. With a photo taken than none other than our very own photog:Obeso.

If you happen to have a copy of the catalouge flip through the pages and you will find that Ruben has landed a gripload of photos within the mag as well. Even a hefty Table of Contents sequence photo.

Mariano Valenzuela and Flippy Zendejas will be at next weekends Valley Voyage stop! Atop from that I hear they filmed some legit runs in Seeley last weekend.
Aron Lawrence is at it again with some new Trick tips! His latest installment, the "Backside 5-0 grind".

And we would also like to welcome Wisconsin Neal to the RDT team! Wisconsin hails from the great state of Oregon! Shout out to all you rad ass Oregon skateboarders you dudes are cool as heck! Thanks for all the support!

Be sure to keep checking back for updates and what we call the "Big 4" are coming up after the Holtville stop. Calipat,Brawley,Calexico, and the grand finally in El Centro are all on the way for the Valley Voyage tour. Those four stops will be the biggest of them all. Also the world famous and annual STRUGGLE SHOWDOWN is coming up this November. Maybe December. We will see how fast we get things together. You know its going to be big though! We keep shit legit!

Oh yea and the website is getting fixed up as we speak. You can see the temporary website up already. Its a start right?It will be done soon enough!

Welcome to the first ever Struggle Blog/News section. We will be updating this page alot so keep your mind tuned into it as often as possible.

First off tons of new product is in at the moment. The first ever Pro Struggle signature decks are out. The TYRONE OLSON & RUBEN NAJERA Pro decks are out as we speak. Collect them both if you can. Super limited in supply. You are for sure going to want to get your hands on each.

RUBEN NAJERA has been super busy lately as always. He got featured on a banner and postcard ad at the ASR tradeshow for SNEAUX shoes.

And had massive banners at the Peter Grimm boothe for the Magic Tradeshow in Las Vegas.

Currently at the moment Ruben is out doing some Hollywood work with an appearance on the soon to premier CBS show The Ex List. See if you can spot our boy out on the telly(tv).
